Baseball season is about to begin, an official sign spring is here and summer is near. No better way to enjoy San Diego than attending a Padre game at PETCO Park, located right in East Village of Downtown San Diego, surrounded by shops, restaurants, the Gaslamp district, and more. New additions to the park included a wine bar Wine Steals, and a gastro pub, Proper.
On 4/12 through 4/15/10, the San Diego Padres will open their season at home against the Atlanta Braves. Get your San Diego Padres tickets here.
Tickets range from around $5 to just over $60. For $5 you can get yourself a Park Pass, where you are granted access into PETCO, free to roam about, but the “seating” located on the lawn is an obstructed view, not for the avid baseball fan. For everyone else, i.e. casual fans and people like me, it is just perfect. Bring a picnic, buy some drinks, and spend the game sitting or laying on a blanket. Parking is a semi-nightmare, unless if you are willing to shell out $20. The alternative? Drive down to one of the coaster/trolley stations in Mission Valley or Old Town and get dropped off right next to the park. On game days, the trolley runs past its normal operating hours. Check here for more information. on Trolley times and stops. You can even take the Coaster right from Oceanside or Encinitas, and transfer to the Trolley, not having to worry about driving at all!
