Picture 2 San Diego Padres 40th Anniversary this Weekend!

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, head on down to PETCO Park to see the San Diego Padres play the Colorado Rockies and celebrate their 40th anniversary!  Game starts at 7:05 PM and all attendees will receive a complimentary Padres retro visor.  If you are staying at one of our rentals, you can just hop on the coaster and avoid all of the traffic!  Ride on into downtown, grab some food, pay $5 to sit on the lawn and watch an evening baseball game while enjoying the perfect San Diego weather.

Swim with Sharks in La Jolla, San Diego

41470027 Swim with Sharks in La Jolla, San Diego

If you are looking for something to do on one of our beautiful San Diego summer days, might I suggest going into La Jolla, renting some snorkel gear, and swimming with sharks!  There are several tour companies that offer to kayak you out and point you in the right direction, but it is extremely easy to just do it

yourself and save a few bucks (you just need the snorkel gear).  Ask any lifeguard or person working on the beach where you can find the sharks, and they will point you in the right direction.  You will have to swim out a little ways, but it’s a fairly easy swim and well worth it.  You will be able to see Leopard and Angel Sharks, both completely harmless to humans.

I just went this past weekend and it’s quite thrilling.  You see your first one and are a little freaked out at first, but then when you realize nothing will happen to you, it’s fun to chase them and see how close you can actually get.  Bring an underwater camera!  Hike Bike Kayak San Diego offers kayak, snorkeling, biking, surfing, hiking, and fishing packages if you are interested.  If you are a Beachfront Only guest, you will receive a discount!    (photo by Garry McCarthy for LA Times)
