Swamis is one of the most popular breaks in North County San Diego, and if the crowd doesn't deter you the wave has a lot to offer, particularly if you prefer going right. This is one of the better and most defined right hand point breaks in the area and the break can handle ankle-high to well over head swell. The wave is very popular for longboards as the reef allows for long rides at small size, but when a good swell hits it's better to grab something smaller, as this wave can carry a lot of power. The biggest hazard at Swamis is the crowd. The break has a sea grass reef and a rocky inside, so watch your step at low tides. The best time to ride is on a medium tide.
