What the doctor ordered but updates needed

The view was beautiful and inviting. It was like we were in the ocean. The facilities were good but overall some updates are needed considering the cost. I was hoping for a loyalty benefit of early check (30 min) but no can do. The shower was lukewarm and old. Stays at other locations have offered more amenities. Hosts kept in touch often. Overall, a peaceful getaway for some needed R&R!

Everything was fantastic. I rated everything a 5 star with the exception of safety, which I gave 4 stars. We would have felt more secure if the two outside gates had a lock. We did call requesting this but no locks were added. We would have loved to keep the doors and/or windows open while sleeping. However, this did not change our overall positive experience.

This was a beautiful property that we stayed at. The location was great and the view was amazing. The only thing was the futon in the office was broken and unusable. They did give us a blow up to use. There were two extra cots. Those we’re comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Just a little snafu with the door combination. The directions said the numbers and then "*" which should have been "check". Also I meant to tell you the wheels are missing on the bottom rack of the dishwasher which makes it hard to load. Not a big deal - just something you might want to fix. Otherwise property was GREAT and I am planning on renting that unit again in the future.

Overall, had a great stay. We have stayed at this rental several times. It really is in need of some updating as far as bathrooms and kitchen go. We enjoyed the location and the spectacular view. It was wonderful to wake up and fall asleep to ocean waves. The unit was spacious. The door code was changed at the time of check-in and someone had to come out to set a temporary code. Other than that, it was easy checkout. We appreciated that laundry pods, beach towels, and other linens were provided. Would love to visit more often throughout the year, but we noticed the permit that the building was going to be converted to 4 units, which meant the spaces will likely be smaller. Would still consider booking because it's one the better locations in the area.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. BFF only location is great. With that said, for the money we spent there were a few items that we were disappointed with. Our house had some issues for sure. First, we only had 4 sets of towels. It took 2 separate requests to get the 6 sets of towels for our guests and 2 days. We declared we had 6 guests so I thought we'd have towels for everyone on day 1. Also, one tv was broken and never turned on. We submitted a ticket and no one ever responded. Finally, one kitchen chair was so wobbly and near breaking, we avoided sitting in it. The can opener did not function at all which left one dinner tough to make. Lastly, the laundry room door had duck tape over the switch that controlled the lights in that area. The tape worked its way loose on and off which caused the lights to act oddly. Very unprecedented for the cost of the rental. This property seems in need of some TLC. Im guessing its being torn down soon so not much effort is going into it.

Amazing beautiful oceanfront views. We stayed in the bottom unit. The upper was empty so we had the place to ourselves. Our stay was during the heat wave so it was quite warm even with the small ac unit. Had a fabulous time.The views really are spectacular. Master bed was comfortable. Would love to come back again.

We have been staying with beachfront rentals for over 10 years and stayed at this particular address several times. It was nice to have the astro turf in the yard, it helped keep the unit cleaner. We were disappointed that the outdoor jacuzzi tubs were not there as shown in the photo especially since the beach was totally inaccessible 99% of the time. We also happened to be there on one of the hottest few days ever and one of the rooms a/c did not work at all and the termites falling on the bed were annoying .This room has not had a/c the last three years running. We did rent both units every time we stayed with your company , top and bottom. Might I suggest that you consider some ceiling fans? they may help with the lack of a/c........it was really hot this year! no beach and a lot of flies.

Our vacation was perfect! What a view! On-line pictures do not accurately describe the beauty. We spent every moment outside watching the dolphins, ships, surfers and crashing waves against the boulders. The sunsets were magnificant, enjoyed our mornings drinking coffee overlooking the ocean. he house was spotless and laid out perfectly. The masters were split with generous closet space. The office/extra bedroom, there is no closet but a futon, also has a third full bath, which we appreciated. The kitchen is recently remodeled and has new applicances. Restaurants, the beach, stores, all were in walking distance or a short car ride. We had a small issue with a lock and property management responded professionally and immediately. We didn't want to leave! Thank you so much.

Buyer Beware: Fraud, Filth, and Infestation

Do not stay here, or in any Beachfront Only property. Research Beachfront Only Vacation Rentals, including the Better Business Bureau. I wish I had done this before I booked. They have a shameful reputation with renters and in the communities where they do business. Sure the view is glorious, but not with random strangers walking around your yard. You will have no privacy. The yard is shared with the upstairs renters and anyone else they send to the property without warning. When we arrived the yard was a wreck and not as pictured. They installed artificial turf while we were there, which did not offset the disruption and total lack of privacy of living in a construction zone. They also added a fence that entirely blocks beach access. Had we known that the beach access advertised in the property listing was false, we would not have chosen this property. 1. No beach access, though the posting explicitly reads “BEACH ACCESS: 11-15 steps” 2. Strips of scotch tape with human hair stuck in it on the master bedroom wall. I scratched this off the wall myself after asking 3 times to have it cleaned. 3. Something dark brown smashed into living room rug. 4. Red stains on pillowcase. 5. Huge crusty yellow stain on throw pillow. 6. Window shades are filthy and one with red stains. 7. 2nd bedroom ceiling was crumbling and sink takes hours to drain. 8. The yard “update” was left unfinished with large potted plants overturned, and a huge pot of dirt and garbage left by the firepit along with an upended yard post in an orange pail. 9. No screens on 3 of the 4 beach facing windows. To enjoy the ocean air you must open the door, which lets in bugs and lets out your pets/toddlers. 10. Filthy outdoor sofa. I wouldn’t let my dog sit on it. 11. Artificial trees and plants literally dripping with dust. 12. Garage too small for my Cherokee. I got a citation for blocking street cleaning. Signs for street cleaning schedules are not posted near the unit. 13. And finally, we had ants.

Jennifer, while we appreciate your feedback regarding your stay we hope all guests are honest and transparent in regards to their reviews. We are thankful we had the opportunity to discuss your concerns immediately during your visit. While the beach access was definitely a disappointment, the lack of beach access that occurred was due to mother nature. In no way did Beachfront Only have any intention of misleading our guests, as beach access was prohibited days before your check in. Our team corrected the advertisement to ensure all future guests were aware and not booking with the intention of stairs leading down to the beach. During your stay, our management team was made aware of your disappointment with the backyard in addition to other complaints. We quickly resolved any and all issues including a full upgrade of the backyard, which is spectacular. We empathize with your annoyance of the lack of privacy while our team worked quickly to create a backyard experience that was more amazing than what was initially advertised. We thank you for that feedback and are elated our team created a serene amazing backyard experience within hours of you notifying us... we are ecstatic that current and future guests will enjoy this space. As you’re aware, our team offered a complimentary transfer to other properties during this time however that offer was declined. While we hope that all guests have a perfect vacation experience, we are well aware that some patrons may experience one that is not issue-free. Beachfront Only Vacation Rentals has been in business for more than 20 plus years and has been recognized by VRBO and other vacation rental organizations for being one of the top vacation rental companies in the US. Hundreds of families, friends, and corporate groups have enjoyed multiple visits with us, and have experienced the exceptional service we are known for. Coffee and Dolphins!

I highly recommend this vacation rental! It is beautifully decorated and it had everything we needed to feel right at home. The location is perfect and you can’t beat the views! In the morning sitting outside by the fire pit, a pod of dolphins swam by just a few feet from the shore. It was the perfect way to start the day! I would rent this unit again next time I come back to Oceanside.

Beautiful Oceanfront Views!!!

We stayed at this property for a little staycation getaway. Upon arriving, it was easy to access the front door and garage. The first thing I noticed was the left side of the property (we stayed on the bottom floor) had overgrown grass and weeds so it was hard to sit and lay out blankets in that area. It was aesthetically unpleasant to look at considering the backyard had this amazing view of the ocean. For the money we paid, we expected it to be a bit more upkeep in appearances (or at least similar to the photos advertised online). Inside the property was spacious and roomy. Plenty of room for our family. The decor was modern and matched to the theme of the ocean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals. One of the remotes and tv inside one of the rooms was not working. I called the management company and they responded right away with new batteries and a new HDMI cord to replace it. They also had a landscaper come to the yard the following day to cut the grass! I can’t speak enough about their customer satisfaction, they definitely deserve a 10 out of 10! There are a few areas which seems a bit outdated and the patio balcony could use a fresh set of paint but it wasn’t a big deal. The awesome part of the patio was the little bird nest with baby chicks inside. It was so neat to see and hear them chirping for food while mama bird flies to and from her nest to feed them. Can’t blame them for building a nest there. After all, who wouldn’t want to live by the ocean?! I must say the backyard is stunning with plenty of space for the kids to run around and maintain a good distance from the house. We were still able to keep an eye out and still give them their privacy. The best part was the cement stairs leading down to the beach. Beautiful house, wonderful location. Would absolutely stay here again. I will say the steps to the water have a bit of a drop off so slippery rock climbing is needed for last 2-3 steps. And tide is often too high, but early AM walks on the beach are a possibility. It’s 1 mile from the pier, that’s nice. And one of the bathrooms is 1/2 painted. The company is super professional and quick to respond. I will only stay with this company.

Weekend Get Away

We Booked a long weekend at this property to relax and enjoy the sounds of the Ocean. Absolutely a wonderful location. the property is roomy and easy access from the street level. There were a few minor issues that were quickly addressed by Beachfront manager. The two main issues that could make this property better are - 1. The patio furniture was not in good condition and we noted it needed to be repaired/replaced. 2. the Microwave over the stove did not work. (we did find a small microwave on the top shelf of the pantry on day 2) it would have been nice to know at the beginning.

Perfect for our family and two dogs

Clean, spacious, well maintained. The grass area was perfect for our pug and mini-Sheepadoodle. There is a sandy area beyond the grass area. Just a very short walk was a sandy beach and pier. We appreciated the walk as opposed to just having a sandy beach at our doorstep. We chose the lower level for older parents with mobility issues, and that level worked out perfectly. We appreciated the fire feature outside. The garage is VERY small. We have a mini-van and while we managed to squeeze it in once, we parked on the street for most of our stay.

Beach Vacation!

The location was perfect! We had beautiful sunsets and could see dolphins playing in the water while having breakfast. We loved that we could walk down to the sand when the tide was low. Diane at the front desk was super helpful and professional. 5 stars! That being said, the bathrooms, though clean, could use some updating. Also, would have been wonderful with a hot tub! If you have kids, bring some board games as none were provided. Plus, don't forget the ear plugs as the homes are a block away from the train tracks.

Family Getaway

We had a wonderful beach getaway at this rental. The location was perfect and we loved having our own private beach in the backyard with stairs down to the ocean. My husband was able to walk down and surf right out front and our kids were able to do the same to swim and boogie board when the tide was low. (The lower steps can get quite slippery, so need to be careful). We were very impressed with how clean this unit was when we arrived. Also loved the resort-like display of bath and beach towels on each bed. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and fire pit for s’mores and brought our bikes to ride along the strand up to the pier and marina and back. Will definitely return. Hopefully soon. ❤️

Great Weekend

The weekend was awesome! The location was top notch and we had a blast. Being on the beach and listening to the sounds of the waves is special. Overall everything was great but a few drawbacks. 1 - the water is only accessible during low tide, but at least there is sand in the back for the kids to play in. 2 (and this doesn't have to do with the house itself) but the people who rented the unit were smoking a lot over the weekend and were up at all hours of the night. Again this doesn't have to do with the unit itself.

Our beachfront retreat

This was our third time staying her. It was a girls trip only this time. We had a mixture of weather hot to cold and cool nights. We actual had a beach for the girls to go down and play in the water 2 of the days we were here. The last day the tide was very high and rough. The unit is extremely clean and kept up. We had a bonfire and smore's. The dog is always happy and looking out the windows at the ocean and the girls. We had pizza, cheese bread and salad from Benito"s Cafe they delivered really good and we also pick up Pick Up Stick in Carlsbad too. The only bad part again was having to go home. Hope to be back in Aug.

It was nice that this time my parents were able to come with us and they really enjoyed just staying at the unit enjoying the views. The girls had bond fire two nights making smore's. This was our second time in this unit. We saw dolphins go buy in the late afternoon. We are already coming back in a few months for our 3rd stay. It's very relaxing to sit and enjoy the ocean in the backyard and in the front room. We brought in food from tin fish from the pier best burgers, crosscut fries and onion rings. The only disappointment was the unit was not ready when we arrived at our check in time we had to wait over an hour to get in and a few things were not cleaned the way they should have been but this was not the fault of beachfront the guess before us left really late. Beachfront staff was on the problem ASAP and sent someone from the offices to the unit to see us and called in more cleaning crew to help. Beachfront gave us late check out to make up for it which was nice to have a couple hours more at the unit the girls were able to go to the beach for a few hours before we needed to check out. Overall the unit is extremely clean and kept up. We will be back many time to come!

Beautiful property with some issues...

We rented this house for my dads 60th birthday. It looked just like the pictures. Even though the tide was high and we weren’t able to access the beach it was beautiful to hear the waves as we fell asleep and throughout the day.

There is no central AC. Only two wall units. One in the dining room and one in the master bedroom. Even though it doesn’t get very hot you need to turn on the units or it gets very stuffy. Opening the doors just lets mosquitoes and flies in. Everything was very clean. I appreciated all the extra towels and blankets. They even had the Beachfront logo on them as did the coffee mugs. Nice little touch.

Now for the negatives. Several of the amenities were not functioning. The tv and the AC unit in the master were not working but they sent someone over within 3 hours to fix it. Same with the bbq and fire pit. They were out of propane. My biggest complaint is the PARKING situation. The garage door was broken so we had to park one of our cars on the street. The other car we parked in the driveway just like we were instructed and got a ticket for “obstructing the sidewalk”!!!

Not sure that I would stay here again but we made the best of our time here.

Great view!

What a view!! Amazing. Great house in size and layout. Kitchen is well stocked. Furnishings are adequate neighborhood is slightly rougher than I expected and people like to walk across the backyard more than I was comfortable with. Backyard is amazing, but surf is crazy strong and you certainly have no beach. Only major disappointment was the sand in the back yard. The photos made it look like kids could play in the yard sand, but the sand was practically nonexistent and completely washed into the ground. With no beach, that left us w sad kiddos. Overall a good trip!

Beachfront get away

We had the bottom unit. The house was extremely clean. We enjoyed the view and we even saw dolphins playing in the ocean. The sound of the ocean was so relaxing and calm. The puppy loved running around the house and even had her own windows her height to look out at the backyard and ocean. The neighbors upstairs where very quite and nice as were the next door neighbors. I would highly recommend this property. We are already looking to coming back next year or sooner. Beachfront management replied to my emails and phone calls immediately and were very pleasant. The worst part of it all was we had to leave to go home.

Our Amazing Cal vacation

I was worried that what I saw in the pictures, when we booked,wouldn't be what we got when we arrived at the property. I was shocked when it exceeded my expectations. The rental came with all of the things we would need, the rooms were much larger than I though and each had there own bathroom. The bunk beds were full sized with a trundle under one of them. Their was plenty of room indoors and outdoors. The view was amazing as well as the beach access. I could refer this company and property to my family and friends. We are planning on returning to this property to have another family vacation.

Lovely family destination!

Great place! We were 12 - ages 3 to 63! We never even turned on the multiple TVs because everyone had so much fun outside. Those who wanted to walk enjoyed heading down to the pier. Others hung out in the back and the kids loved the beach - which does disappear at high tide. Ownership of the fire pit came into question, but we had wonderful “neighbors” for our stay. It was hard to keep the sand out of the house - better door rugs would help. Great to have the gas grill and kitchen well stocked.

Gorgeous House and View

We had the first floor unit of this beautiful duplex. The house was very clean, well appointed and nicely decorated. The view is fantastic. We frequently saw dolphins playing in the surf. We enjoyed the fire pit nightly. The grandkids loved the beaches to the North near the pier. Two washers and two dryers inside the unit and a fully equipped kitchen. Management staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Definitely recommend Beach Front Only.

A Perfect Beach House

We rented this beach house to stay in after a Disney Cruise. My family all decided that this was their favorite part of the vacation...they enjoyed the beach house more than the cruise! The home was beautiful, quiet, private, clean and in perfect condition. There were plenty of towels, beach towels and clean bedding available, which was a nice surprise for a party of 15! The location was great, but there is not a usable beach right on the premise, even at low tide. We had to walk down the street to get to a beach, which wasn't a real problem. The beach home is right on the ocean, but there are rocks leading to the ocean with no beach. The water and waves make it impossible to swim from the back yard. This was the only thing we were disappointed in. Overall, the had a great time and would love to return someday!

3 nights in Oceanside

The accommodations were delightful. Everything was satisfactory except access to the beach-- what beach? There really was none. The erosion has taken away the beach. Sad. With the tide out, the beach still had several inches of water on top = no sand castles, no babies with buckets and shovels. And to even get to that the stairs were steep, no rails, and the last 3 feet down had no stairs, but slippery algae covered boulders to slide down. Help!! Overall, the view of the ocean was fantastic. I would probably do it again. Maybe. Don't know for sure.

Beautiful Beach Property

This place was awesome! We stayed here for spring break with our 16, 12, and 6 year old. More than enough room and having 3 full bathrooms was so nice. It's close enough to walk to almost anything you need. We used the concierge service, who were incredible! They booked sailing and surf lessons for us and both were within a 3-5 minute drive (which were fabulous and I highly recommend). Overall we had a beautiful stay. The ONLY downside to this property was the wifi-so if you need to get work done it could be a little frustrating. We tried to watch a movie a couple of times, sometimes it worked and others it didn't. Not a big deal since we were on vacation.

Most beautiful beach house ever!

This is our second time at this beach house and it is truly the most amazing one ever. The backyard is right on the beach with a comfortable outdoor couch, fire pits and tons of relaxing chairs. There are even stairs right down to the sand! The inside is decorated calming and relaxing and has everything you could ever want. One room even has 2 sets of queen size bunk beds with an added trundle! Perfect for big parties! It's a don't miss!

Fantastic Girls Trip

We had a great time at this property with our adult children and grandchildren. The views were beautiful, it was very private but convenient to the pier and other amenities. Would definitely stay again. A few things needed maintenance but not enough to be a problem. The closet doors have automatic lights when opened which is great but they need to be adjusted as they do not turn off easily. Some cabinet doors in the kitchen need to be replaced. Could use some ceiling fans, there was some small fans in closet but only one out of the three worked when plugged in. Otherwise everything was very nice. Outside was nice as well. The far chairs by fire pit could use new cushions. The small area on the left as you go out the back door could use some manicuring at least, would be really great if it had nice grass there. Overall quite a nice property.

Second year staying at this lovey beach front home with our family! Has everything needed for our vacation getaway -
Master bedroom has awesome views the moment you open your eyes, large patio great for everyone and fires in the community pit is so much fun.
Kids can play in the sand out under umbrellas without being right on the water which is so convenient for little ones..
Kitchen has all supplies needed for cooking in for a big crowd.
Well stocked with linens and towels, three bathrooms definitely a big plus!
Would highly recommend this beautiful home and would definitely book this home again.

Fantastic Stay!

We came here with a group of ladies from church for a short retreat. The house is stocked with everything you'd need, the patio is relaxing and spacious, and you can't beat being right on the beach! Every lady in our group had an awesome time. The rental company was great to work with at every turn. Our only complaint was that check-in was so late and check-in was so early. We did pay for a later check-out, but it was a little pricey. Despite the one flaw, we will definitely be back next year!

Sticking to a strict schedule ensures that all properties are cleaned on time (since that is only a 6 hour window). You were wonderful guests and took great care of the house. Great break with the family!

This unit was perfect for our needs that included 4 adults and 3 young children (4, 2 and newborn). There is lots of space and two of the bedrooms are quite separate from the rest of the unit so the kids could go to bed early and we didn't have to worry about making noise. Having the sand (above the rocks) allowed the kids to enjoy the outside even when the tide was up. This is my second rental with Oceanfront and the management company is very professional and very responsive.

Holiday Family Fun Oceanside BFO

House was clean and spacious with wonderful well equipped kitchen. We had large group so they brought more silverware and a missing spatula was replaced with three new ones!Plenty of towels too! Upper Sandy beach was safe and great for grandkids! We all enjoyed the fire pit and the gas pit was wonderful too! We had a football watch party and there was plenty of room for everyone.
Managers were available for my questions with rental process and check in/out procedures were very simple. Short walk to Oceanside pier and quick drive to Legoland and Aquarium. Especially loved morning coffee in master bedroom room while watching porpoises swim by with lots of birds as well! Loved our beachhouse in Oceanside - the perfect getaway!

We absolutely loved our beachhouse in Oceanside, it was a perfect fit for our needs. Home was roomy and well laid out, had plenty of space for our group. Three bathrooms was awesome! Kitchen was well stocked with stuff needed to cook in and save money. Everything was tastefully decorated. The view from master bedroom was priceless, loved waking up to it every day. Patio and firepit were used more than the interior dining room and family room. We roasted hot dogs and marshmellows almost every night. Having umbrellas and sand in our back yard without being on the beach was perfect to relax with our grandkids. Just a half a dozen steps down and we were right on the beach probably 20 feet from water at low tide. First day our private beach was all rocks, then the tide came in and washed all the rocks away and we had smooth sand for the rest of our trip! We had SUP/Kayaks and took them out every day from our lovely little spot. Body surfing and boogie boarding was good there too!

Overall our experience was fantastic, had plenty of linens, everything worked out great for us. Would rent again in the future and highly receommend this place for anyone who wants an extraordinary getaway!

Oceanfront Dream

Our family stayed in this beautiful rental for ten days in early November. The outside atmosphere was perfect for those warm Southern California days and nights. The house worked well for three families to comfortably enjoy.
It was very clean and provided everything you could possibly need. The management was very prompt at addressing any needs we had.
We would definitely stay here again.

It was an awesome stay for me, my sister and our 3 young kids. Comfortable beds. Clean and updated property. Very private and spacious. Had everything you will need for a relaxing family vacation. We only left to go to Legoland for a few hours but stayed in and ate in the entire time to enjoy the property more. Wish we could have stayed longer.
